Bonam is worship of nature says Collector MRR Rao in Nizamabad

first_imgNizamabad: The Bonalu festival symbolises worship of nature, said District Collector MRR Rao while inaugurating the celebrations along with Zilla Parishad chairman Dadannagari Vithalrao in the city on Friday.The Bonela celebrations were organised under the auspices of TNGOs at Jai Bhawani Durgamata Temple located near the Collectorate. Bonam pots were brought in procession from the Amman Temple to the Collector’s Office. The Collector and the chairman addressed the people after puja. The Collector greeted the people of the district on the occasion. Offering a meal to the Goddess Bonam means offering meals. He said that scientific matters are hidden in the attire, such as wearing neem branches.
