Twentyfour Indians employed in Sri Lanka arrested

Investigations had revealed that the Indians did not have valid visas to be employed in Sri Lanka.The Indians were employed in a factory with another group of Indians but it was found that the 24 Indians did not have valid visas to be employed in Sri Lanka. Twenty-four Indians who were employed in Ingiriya have been arrested by customs officers.The Customs Department said that the Indians were arrested following a raid last evening. They were taken to the Mirihana immigration detention centre last night as further investigations continue. (Colombo Gazette)Report by Indika Sri Aravinda
